 It's been my pleasure to work with Ocean State PMI, first as VP
of Marketing and in 2007-2008 as President. I'm excited about the growth that our chapter has received as we
break the 500 member mark with more than 1500 on our mailing list. I am blessed with an energetic and
visionary board of directors that is working by my side to bring you some great things in 2008.
We have a full lineup of speakers and special programs including job fairs, special
workshops (including two days with Neal Whitten in June) and a network event planned for this year. And I
can't talk about great programs without mentioning our PMP Prep course, which is one of the best you'll find
anywhere – so don't let the low cost fool you! Our Education committee has created a fantastic program that
is personal, with proven techniques to help obtain that important PMP credential.
All these events and programs are a result of the great leadership on our board of
directors and from those previous board members that served Ocean State PMI since its inception. But we need
to continue to grow – and we need you! Volunteering with Ocean State PMI has been extremely rewarding for
me. It's helped me with my leadership and public speaking skills and has helped me to built strong
friendships that will last long after my time on the board is done.
If you're looking for growth in your career, there's nothing better than leading a
group of volunteers to test and grow your leadership skills.
We have important committees that are forming that will really make a difference in
moving the chapter forward, so step up and help out and I can promise you that you won't regret it.
